By using Canto you agree to the short set of rules below. They're written to protect readers, authors, and the app itself — in that order.
What Canto gives you
A limited, personal, non-transferable right to use the app and its curated library for your own reading life. You may not resell, scrape, republish, or retrain models on Canto's content without written permission.
What you give Canto
When you bookmark a quote, sync a theme, or save a reading card, you grant Canto the right to store and display that content on your own devices, and to include aggregate, anonymous signals in product analytics.
Subscriptions
Canto Pro is a recurring subscription. It renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. You can cancel from the App Store in two taps and keep Pro until the end of the paid period.
Author and publisher rights
Canto quotes published work under fair-use principles and attributes every line to its author and book. If you are the author or rights-holder of any content we surface, write to hello@canto.page and we will attribute, amend, or remove the quote on request.
Termination
We may suspend accounts that abuse the service, attempt to scrape the library, or use Canto to harm another person. You may delete your account at any time — see the Privacy page for instructions.
No warranty
Canto is provided "as is". We care a lot, but no product is perfect. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Canto's liability is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months before a claim.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Canto is incorporated. Disputes are resolved through good-faith discussion first, then binding arbitration if needed.
